Developments in renewable energy at home and internationally are of deep concern to Brendan Halligan; he served as Chair of the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) for seven years, and is currently a director of Mainstream Renewable Power. On 10 February, 2010, he gave a lecture entitled, “Europe’s Energy Exporter,” proposing Ireland as a potential leader in the export of green energy to the EU, with specific recommendations on how to achieve this.
