Scáthán Press

PrintScáthán Press was founded by Brendan Halligan in the early 1970s as “Scáthán Publications” to provide a forum for publications, pamphlets and information relating to Irish politics, economics and current affairs.

In 2013, adapting to the e-Publishing revolution, Scáthán began publishing again making titles available in print and eBook  formats.  Books are available online and by order through Ingram at any bookshop near you.  For current available titles, click on any of the images below for further details or see here

Scáthán’s latest venture is a new version of the film Capital City Dublin 1974-75, made by Brendan Halligan and Jim Mulkerns in the mid-seventies. In the preservation care of the Irish Film Archive for  forty years, the film is now available in DVD format with a brand new original soundtrack by Dublin musician Josh Johnston.  It received a special screening for Culture Night in 2016 and was given a special screening at the Irish Film Institute upon its release that year.  For more info, see here.
